Built to Stay Small
Scope is a promise
Every tool in our catalog does one job. A QR generator that generates QR codes. A PDF toolbox that edits PDFs in your browser. A transcription service that transcribes. When a tool promises one thing, you can check whether it keeps that promise in about a minute — and so can we.
That is not a limitation we ran into. It is a limit we set. Twelve products maintained by a studio you can count on one hand only works if each product refuses to grow sideways.
What a small surface area buys
Fewer features means fewer settings, fewer states, fewer ways to be wrong. It means the whole tool fits in one person's head, so a bug report on Tuesday can be a fix on Wednesday. It means the privacy story stays simple enough to state in one sentence — files never leave your browser — because there is no feature that needs them to.
It also means saying no in public. Feature requests we decline are declined for a reason we can write down: it would make the tool slower, or leakier, or harder to trust. The roadmap is short because the promise is short.
Small is a shape, not a size
We are not against ambition. We are against diffusion. Twelve sharp tools serve more people, more honestly, than one blurry platform — and every tool that stays small stays shipped, stays fast, and stays maintained. That is the shape we are building toward, one narrow promise at a time.
